YKUA 1A it’s a rebrand project for Sitio 1A / Ycuá Bolaños Memorial & Cultural Center. They were looking for an Identity that’s respectful to Barrio Trinidad’s history, and functional for their intended uses. In August 1st 2004, Paraguay spent one of its darkest days due to a dissaster at Ycuá Bolaños Supermarket, a fire that took the life of 400 people. This was the biggest tragedy in peaceful times the Paraguay had ever faced. Now, turned into a memorial, YKUA 1A is a place that breathes life. The place is well aware of this in its design, lighting the place mostly by natural light, this element being a protagonist all around.
